Details: The Reliability Engineer II: Originates and develops analysis methods for determining reliability of components, equipment and processes to maximize asset life and productivity. Acquires and analyses data to support operations, maintenance, engineering and procurement activities via recommendations to assure asset life and productivity are optimized. Conducts an analysis of reliability problems and investigates to determine the reliability required for the particular situation, considering the cost limitations for equipment up/down time, repair/replacement costs, weight, size and availability of material/equipment. Determines the cost advantages of alternatives for developing action plans to comply with internal/external customer demands for reliability processes/equipment to avoid failures. Provides a strategic, reliability-centered maintenance approach to optimizing asset life and productivity within the facilities. Is vigilant of issues and conditions that can affect their fellow workers. Reports any issues that can impact the environment or the safety of the employees. Is Responsible for conducting audits and inspections. Responsibilities: Use Company Standard processes to identify deficiencies in maintenance and reliability systems and develop strategies for long term sustainability. Gathers and examines reliability data from field studies or database, and correlates the data for analysis using well defined engineering techniques/principles/procedures. Participates in the development of Capital plans in the area of reliability. Initiates engineering studies into equipment/process failures and presents details of the analysis to maximize asset life and productivity. Provide support to Maintenance, Operations, Engineering and Procurement to maximize asset life and productivity. Instruct others in ways to avoid future failures of equipment and assets. Utilize Root Cause Analysis processes to identify high level common defects that cause failures and support processes to eliminate these from the site. Performs detailed/routine calculations involving analysis to determine failures, asset trends and impact of predictive maintenance techniques. Other site duties as needed.
